Along time ago, Robert Ashton did badly at school and had poor advice when choosing what to do next. He spent the next few years feeling he was a failure. He only started learning when he joined Mensa and discovered he was actually rather bright! He’s now a successful social entrepreneur, business author and charity patron.
He founded Swarm in 2013 because he found that today; young people still feel they’ve failed if they choose not to follow the herd. Having been on the Board of SFEDI (the UK Sector Skills Body for Enterprise) he saw potential in their newly developed level 3 qualification (‘Enterprising Skills in a Business Environment’). The qualification sits at the heart of Swarm’s offer and influences how we deliver other training. .
In 2014 Chris Perry joined Swarm as Managing Director. He had worked for an apprenticeship provider for many years before joining Norfolk Chamber of Commerce as Membership Manager. He has experience of both the apprenticeship and small and large business sectors. Most importantly, he shares Robert’s vision and has built a team with the attitudes and skills make it all happen.
2016 sees Swarm launch in Suffolk and Essex.
2017 and beyond? Swarm will spread and will continue to grow across the UK to help grow business by developing employees to become more innovative, enterprising and socially aware.
It is our firm belief that tomorrows business will grow profit for purpose and combine both commercial and social goals.
