Social Value

Commercial Compassion in the Community

Swarm Training is a Community Interest Company or otherwise known as a C.I.C.

What is a C.I.C?

C.I.Cs are limited companies which operate to provide a benefit to the community they serve. The purpose of C.I.C. is primarily one of community benefit rather than private profit and how it uses its profits to develop social impact is always at the heart of any CIC. For some CICs this is delivered through the provision of a service to a specific community, for example swarm apprenticeships CIC provides apprenticeship training and career development for young people across the country, in others it will be an activity that generates profits which are used to support a specific purpose such as Swarm Be where our profits generated are used to benefit the community.

Each C.I.C. is required to submit on a yearly basis a report detailing the activities undertaken and how these have benefited the community. This is an important document as it sets out publicly exactly how the C.I.C. has met its obligations to deliver community benefits.

Our business strategy is guided by our four key values: compassion, family, impact and enjoyment. We want to make the world a better place and demonstrate that you can be a commercial organisation that also supports social impact.

Swarm Futures Project

The Swarm Futures Project is a Community Interest Company that is being designed to offer support, training and guidance for the young and disadvantaged to get into work, training or higher education. The project will initially be funded by the profits from Swarm Training C.I.C.

Free Employment & Training Support

The Swarm Futures Project is the development of a dedicated team who can focus on supporting young and disadvantaged people with employability training, advice and mentoring. The Futures team activity will involve training workshops and a post training support programme aimed at enhancing the younger generation’s employment, life and enterprise skills and helping them to identify relevant local opportunities. This will increase the chances of their applications being noticed and help them promote themselves well at interview.

Free School Careers Support

Schools are needing support in providing appropriate careers and training advice and guidance for their students. The Swarm Futures Team will work closely with local and national businesses across the East Of England so they can provide free careers support and impartial advice and guidance on Further and Higher Education.
